
This article is written for people who want to switch from DropboxPasswords to Bitwarden. The article will proceed under the assumption that you are already registered with Bitwarden.
When I tried to switch password managers from DropboxPasswords to Bitwarden, DropboxPasswords does not appear as an option in the import data.

Some of you must be disappointed to see this and think, “I want to cancel Dropbox, but I can’t do it…”.
But don’t worry. You can completely migrate your DropboxPasswords to Bitwarden with a simple click and copy and paste.
The flow is as follows
- Download password information from DropboxPasswords
- Create a CSV file in a format that can be read by bitwarden
- Import into bitwarden
If you are familiar with computer operation, it should take less than 10 minutes.
- Google account (to use spreadsheets)
- Bitwarden account (where you migrate to)
First, export DropboxPasswords
Click on the icon in the upper right corner of the DropboxPasswords page, and you’ll see a bunch of stuff.
Click on the “Basic Settings” button.

A little further down the Basic Settings screen, you will find the Export section.
Press the Export button.

You can download a file named “exported_dropbox_accounts.csv”.
Upload “exported_dropbox_accounts.csv” to the spreadsheet
Go to the spreadsheet listing page and upload “exported_dropbox_accounts.csv”.


After uploading “exported_dropbox_accounts.csv”, check the contents.

Inside, there are “title”, “website”, “login”, “password”, and “notes” up to column E.

Once this sheet appears, do something else.

Create a CSV file that can be read by Bitwarden
The file cannot be imported into Bitwarden without modification.
We will create a CSV file that can be read by Bitwarden.
Download & Edit Model CSV File File
The following table shows the formats that can be read by Bitwarden.

Copy the CSV file template from below.
A spreadsheet named 『【公開用】bitwarden_export のひな形』 will appear.

A copy should be made in the spreadsheet.
Edit CSV file
Open a copy of the 『【公開用】bitwarden_export のひな形』.
Copy and paste the “title”, “website”, “login”, “password”, and “notes” from the “exported_dropbox_accounts.csv” that you downloaded first.
Let’s copy and paste each column into the template.

Download CSV
After you have finished pasting the password information into the 『【公開用】bitwarden_export のひな形のコピー』 download the CSV file.

Click on the top tab “File”, then “Download”, then “Comma Separated Format (.csv)”.
A CSV file will be downloaded.
Import to Bitwarden
Finally, we import the data into Bitwarden.

Click on the top tab “Tools” -> “Import Data” -> “Bitwarden (csv)”.

Select the 『【公開用】bitwarden_export のひな形のコピー』 that you have just edited in the “Select the import file” section.
Click the Import Data button.
Wait a few moments and the import is complete.
